About AnkJyotish
AnkJyotish is a small, precise numerology tool. Give it a name and a birth date, and it works out the numbers that Vedic numerology reads a life through — then explains what each one means, plainly.
What this is
This is Vedic numerology, computed with the Chaldean letter system. The Chaldean values are the older, sound-based set: A·I·J·Q·Y are 1, B·K·R are 2, C·G·L·S are 3, D·M·T are 4, E·H·N are 5, U·V·W are 6, O·Z are 7, F·P are 8 — and 9 is never assigned to a letter, because it was held to be sacred. Every name and date reduces down to a single digit from 1 to 9, except where a master number (11, 22, 33) or a karmic-debt number (13, 14, 16, 19) appears, which we keep intact rather than flatten.
The engine that does this is a faithful, tested port of the original AnkJyotish calculator. The numbers it returns are exact — no rounding, no guessing — so the only judgement involved is the reading you make of them.
What it reveals
From your name and date of birth, AnkJyotish derives a full set of numbers:
- Mulank (psychic number), from your day of birth — how you see yourself.
- Bhagyank (destiny number), from your full date of birth — the path life tends to set out.
- Soul Urge, from the vowels in your name — what you quietly want.
- Name Number and Personality, from the whole name and its consonants — how you express yourself and how others first read you.
- Kua, Maturity and Success — your favourable direction, your later-life theme, and your number of achievement.
It also builds your Lo Shu grid — the magic square where every line sums to 15 — and marks the planes and Rajyogs that come alive when the right cells are filled. On timing, it shows your current Mahadasha (planetary period), your Personal Year, Month and Day, your challenge cycles, and your lucky, unlucky and neutral numbers.
Beyond the personal report, there's a Text → Number calculator for any word, brand or phrase; Power Dates, a calendar of days that sit well with your numbers; and Compatibility, which reads two people side by side.
How the numbers work
Each letter is swapped for its Chaldean value, those values are added, and the total is reduced by summing its digits until one digit remains — unless the sum lands on a master or karmic number, which stays as it is. Dates work the same way: the day, month and year are reduced and combined.
Because letters carry the values, spelling matters. A nickname, an initial, an extra a or a different surname will change the result — so enter the name as it is actually written and used.
A note on belief
This is offered for reflection and self-knowledge, and for the quiet pleasure of seeing pattern in a name. It is a system of belief, not a science: there is no claim here that the numbers predict or govern anything. Read them as a mirror to think against, take what is useful, and make your own choices.
